Privacy and Cookie Policy

All data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns is generic and does not identify any individual. This information is collected for our internal purposes only and shall not be disclosed to any other organisation except as required by law. We use ‘cookies’ to collect this information and track your use of this website. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you log on to our site.

Cookies

a) A cookie is a small piece of information that is placed on your computer when you visit certain websites. Find out more about the use of cookies on http://www.cookiecentral.com

b) We use cookies to:

- remember you when you visit this website to keep track of your browsing patters and to build up a profile of how you and other users use the website;

- make our website work as efficiently as possible; and

- administer services to you and to advertisers.

c) Most browsers allow you to turn off cookies. To do this look at the "help" menu on your browser. Switching off cookies may restrict your user of the website and/or delay or affect the way in which it operates.

Third party advertising cookies

a)Most of the advertisements you see on the website are generated by third parties.

Some of these third parties generate their own cookies (or web beacons) to track how many people have seen a particular advertisement (or use the services of third parties to do this), and to track how many people have seen it more than once. These cookies cannot be used to identify an individual; they can only be used for statistical purposes, for example, in providing you with advertisements that are more relevant to your interests. Some of the information gleaned from third party cookies will be aggregated with other anonymous information for statistical purposes. The third party companies that generate these cookies have their own, very strict, privacy policies but we don't have access to these cookies; other than allowing them to be served, we have no role to play in these cookies at all (although we may use statistical information arising from these third party cookies and provided to us by third parties, to improve the targeting of advertisements to users of the website).

b)If you would like to disable "third party" cookies generated by advertisers or providers of targeted advertising services, you can turn them off by going to the third party's website and getting them to generate a one-time "no thanks" cookie that will stop any further cookies being written to your machine.

c)You can visit the trade body representing these advertising companies for more information on how to opt out of these cookies: http://youronlinechoices.com/

How we use your data

- Administration, general correspondence, support, profiling and processing (including personalising the Site for your use);

- Contacting you to register your use of the Site, to advise you of any special offers, to notify you of new features or to resolve any queries you or we may have regarding us or the Site or its use;

    Your consent to processing data

    By Law we are required to obtain your consent to processing your data. How we protect your data

    The data that you have provided will remain in databases that are established in a network that is firewall protected. Firewalls exist to stop the transfer of unauthorised information to or from the network. Physical access to our servers is restricted through the use of door code security systems. Higher level user login ID and password controls are also in place to restrict access. Only a limited number of IT personnel are authorised by the IT director to access the database. We use industry standard security technology and server certification.

    As a routine we carry out validation checks to help prevent fraud. No protection system is foolproof and the company cannot guarantee the total security of data or accept any liability unless a breach of security was due to our proven wilful default or negligence. Certain web sites linked to our site may not offer the same protections as the Vista Hotels Ltd. web sites and the laws of some countries outside the Channel Islands or the EU to which your data may be transferred as part of the process of providing products and services to you, may not offer the same data protection.

    Customer choice

    You can update your data or ask us to delete your data at anytime by sending an e-mail to reservations@vistahotels.co.uk
