Robert started his catering career in his parent’s Inn where he cooked bar meals for up to 70 people a night at the tender age of 15. His hotel career began in 1976 where he worked across the UK, Switzerland and Guernsey. In total, Robert has worked in the Guernsey hotel industry for 21 years and has built up a regular trade and client base, as well as becoming quite a well known character! Robert’s wisdom and likeability means that all guests feel welcome as soon as they arrive and nothing is too much trouble. His love of tourism and hospitality is well placed at the beautiful Fermain Valley Hotel.
Daniel has been with the company for six years honing his skills as a waiter and barman before moving to reception. More recently, Daniel deals with hotel operations and implementing procedures to enhance guest’s experience.
Gavin started off his hospitality career in the kitchen before finding his true vocation greeting guests and ensuring they have the perfect holiday. Originally from Wales, Gavin worked seasonally in Guernsey before joining Fermain Valley Hotel six years ago as a receptionist. Working closely alongside both Robert and Daniel, Gavin is your friendly point of contact should you have any queries before or during your stay.
Viera has been on the island for eight years and has had experience both on reception and as a hotel manageress. Friendly and efficient, Viera looks forward to welcoming you to the Fermain Valley Hotel.
Liene has lived in Guernsey for a total of 13 years and before her time running Ocean restaurant began, she was restaurant manager at a number of prominent local restaurants. Bringing her experience and passion for great service to the Ocean team, Liene looks forward to welcoming you.
Rebecca is a relatively new member of the Fermain Valley team and yet, has had a significant and positive impact on both social and corporate events organised in the hotel and The Venue. Compassionate and friendly, Rebecca looks forward to meeting you and looking after all your function needs from birthday parties to large-scale corporate events.
Karol has been a member of the Fermain Valley Hotel team for two years and has worked extensively in all departments throughout the hotel. Now based at The Venue, Karol is a brilliant host and looks after all the corporate bookings that are held here. A popular master of ceremonies for weddings, Karol will ensure that your special day is perfect.
