Herm is the smallest public island within the Bailiwick as it’s perimeter can be walked in about one hour.
Herm is the only island in the bailiwick that bans cars, tractors and bikes with the latter two only allowed for residents. Home to neolithic tombs, Herm’s occupancy during prehistoric times is still visible today.
Today, visitors can enjoy the sandy beaches of Belvoir Bay and collect some seashells on the popular and appropriately named Shell Beach.
A short 20 minute ferry ride on the Herm Trident Ferry will take you from the centre of St Peter Port to the small island oasis.
